Business Days Calculator

A business day is any Monday through Friday that is not a US federal holiday (when you turn the holiday option on). Saturdays and Sundays are always excluded from the count.

The built-in calendar applies the historical start years and date rules encoded by the calculator. Juneteenth is included from 2021. It also models selected historical changes, including the 1971 updates to Washington's Birthday and Memorial Day. State, religious, exchange, and employer holidays are not included.

Fixed-date holidays that fall on a Saturday are observed the prior Friday; those that fall on a Sunday are observed the following Monday. This matches the federal payroll convention. Floating holidays such as Memorial Day and Labor Day are always scheduled on a Monday, so they never need an observance shift.

Court deadlines, statutes, contracts, and company policies can define counting and holidays differently, so follow the rule that applies to your deadline.
